In a matter of days, a Van Buren resident was surprised to learn that she would be featured on the upcoming TV show, “Survivor: Samoa.”
Natalie White, 26, almost felt shock when the show’s producers approached her about being one of 20 “cast-away” contestants on the popular reality-television show, which will premiere at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 on CBS. She and her boyfriend, Justin Thomas, originally auditioned for “The Amazing Race,” but White was later invited to compete on “Survivor"
"Survivor" returns to the South Pacific for its upcoming 19th installment, and the 20 castaways who will be stranded on a Samoan island have just been revealed.
Among this season’s eclectic group is a New Hampshire cop with a hippy past (Besty), a young rocket scientist who claims to work well under stress (John), a former college football coach turned personal chef (Mike) and a man with an insane strategy (Russell H.).
So which one of this group will be "the devil incarnate," as castaway Marisa Calihan puts it in the promo linked above? We find out Thursday, Sept. 17, but you can get your first taste of the players' personalities with this video, in which the cast members describe themselves and size up the competition.
“With ‘Survivor: Samoa,’ it was my first TV show, and it was great,” White said before laughing. “But I probably won’t try out for any other shows.”
